YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - Cibola boys basketball took the trip down Interstate-8 to Imperial Monday night as the stand alone game on the local front.
After 32 minutes, the Raiders proved to be the better team tonight after running away with a 74-42 win - after an 18-2 run to end the third quarter.
Derek Stanley led the way with 22 points and six rebounds, followed by 12 points, nine assists and five steals from Jared Arias.
Imperial was led by nine points from David Scariano and six points, 10 rebounds from Jared Nixon.
The Raiders improve to 12-5, as the Tigers fall to 8-6.
To college hoops, both Arizona Western College basketball teams ended a tough four-game road trip out of the break with losses at Eastern Arizona over the weekend.
The women's team fell 68-58 and have lost all five of their games in ACCAC play (11-5). The men's team is now 13-4 (6-3) after a 76-65 loss.
Meanwhile, Wild Card weekend in the NFL wrapped up on Monday night, capped off by a dominating performance from the Dallas Cowboys in a 31-14 win in Tampa Bay.
