City of Yuma certifies P&R supervisors as Playground Safety Inspectors

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of Yuma certifies Sam Lewis and Joel Meyer as Certified Playground Safety Inspectors (CSPI).

In a press release, both Lewis and Meyer are currently the Parks and Recreation (P&R) Grounds Maintenance Supervisors for the County.

While Lewis earned his certification recently, Meyer earned his back in March of 2022. The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) certified both men.

“Certified Playground Safety Inspectors are a key to keeping children safe in our parks,” said Parks and Recreation Director Eric Urfer.

“I congratulate Sam and Joel on this achievement. This certification requires tremendous effort, and the result is additional expertise for the department and the community.”
