Yuma murder suspect’s defense team asks for more time again
Trevon Wilhite accused of killing his girlfriend and her two-year-old son
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Defense attorneys for a Yuma man accused of murdering his girlfriend and her two-year-old son say they need more time to prepare for trial.
Prosecutors say Trevon Wilhite killed Tamacia and Roy Wilder in August. Both died from blunt force trauma. The state is seeking the death penalty against Wilhite.
His attorneys on Monday returned to court to ask a judge to give them another 30-days to get ready. Judge Brandon Kinsey granted that request.

The victim's mother and grandmother attended the hearing via video conference. They questioned the need for further delay. They wanted to know how long it it will take for Wilhite to stand trail.
Judge Kinsey advised patience, saying the case would take some time. Prosecutors say the trial could last as long as four or five months.
