Phoenix defeats Denver in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals

PHOENIX, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - The Phoenix Suns have lots of momentum after knocking the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers in 6 games of the 1st round of the NBA playoffs.

Now, the Suns have their sights set on the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals.

In the 1st half, the Nuggets were the team that was off to a hot start.

Nikola Jokic led the way for Denver to get out to an early lead over Phoenix, as he led the way for the visitors with 22 points on the night.

But, by the 2nd half, the Suns would start to catch fire.

Mikal Bridges led all scorers with 23 points, while Chris Paul and Devin Booker also played big; each scoring 21 points.

The Suns 2nd half surge would lead to a 122 to 105 game 1 win.
