NBC News poll shows voters unhappy with both parties days before midterms

(NBC, KYMA) - With just two days to go until the midterm elections, a new NBC News poll shows voters want change in November, and they're favoring Democrats, though they're not happy with either party.

The new survey, released Sunday, shows 52% of registered voters want to see Democrats win the majority in Congress, compared to the 45% hoping Republicans keep control.

The support for Democrats is up two points from just a month ago; those who weren't sure which party they preferred back in September shifted to the left.

President Donald Trump's plea for voters to pretend he's on the ballot may not be helping as the new poll found 60% of voters say they disapprove of his job performance while 40% approve.

Nearly two-thirds of registered voters said President Trump has fallen short of delivering on his promises, while 34% said he's lived up to expectations.

Half of respondents say they want a great deal of change when it comes to how the president is leading the country.

Only 3% thought no change is needed.

The new polling shows voters aren't happy with either party going into the November elections. 50% have negative feelings about the GOP, but even more, 52% have negative feelings about the Democratic Party, just a few days before the elections that could shift the balance of power.
