New NBC News Telemundo poll shows Latino voters souring in GOP and President Trump

(NBC, KYMA) - One month from the crucial midterm elections, a new NBC News Telemundo poll shows President Donald Trump and the GOP are losing some Latino voters.

The survey, released Sunday, shows barely more than one in four approve of the president's job performance. 69% disapprove. It's a significant shift after Latino voters helped elect President Trump two years ago.

The biggest issue on voters' minds now are inflation and the cost of living, and three-quarters of the latino voters polled disapprove of how president trump is handling it.

65% said his policies hurt the economy. 23% said they've helped, with 11% saying they haven't made much of a difference.

When it comes to immigration enforcement, 67% of the 800 registered Latino voters surveyed said the Trump Administration has gone too far.

31% said the actions have been about right, or haven't gone far enough.

The sliding support could be dire for Republicans, with just weeks until the midterms.

Latino voters surveyed said Democrats would do better handling the concerns of their community, the economy, and immigration.

They broke even when it came to border security.

The NBC News Telemundo poll found 59% of Latino voters want Democrats to control Congress. That's a 24-point advantage over the GOP, a margin that's doubled since we asked the same question back in 2024, results that could really shake things up in congressional districts across the country this November.
