Narco banner found at kindergarten school in Mexicali

MEXICALI, Mexico (KYMA) - A narco banner was found at a kindergarten school in Mexicali Wednesday morning, prompting school officials to suspend classes amid fear among school administrators and parents.

The message targeted government agencies and former Mexicali Police Chief Pedro Mendivil, accusing them of supporting the criminal group, "Los Ruso," a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.

The banner was removed just minutes after it appeared.

Margarita Orduño, grandmother of one students who attends the school, said she's concerned.

"I'm very worried and afraid about our current situation...Honestly, things have been absolutely terrible under this government, and with incidents like this happening so close by, I live just four blocks away, I'm really worried about my grandson," Orduño expressed.

This is the first time a narco banner has been found inside a kindergarten school in the city.
