Weather Authority/ KYMA

More active weather is going to favor around the Desert Southwest, but I am tracking breezy and windy conditions through Thursday. Temperatures will also be cooling down through the week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- It's been a cloudy day here in the Desert Southwest and we did have a light shower and sprinkle earlier this morning in parts of Yuma County.

Take a look at our storm outlook for today, I am tracking more severe and active weather expected to happen around the Desert Southwest. We may get a light shower and sprinkle, but it isn't going to be anything significant.

It has been a breezy and windy afternoon here in Yuma County as winds have been coming from the east/northeast with gusts between 20-25 MPH.

Going into the evening winds will calm down in Yuma County, but stronger winds will favor in Imperial County as westerly winds will be bringing in stronger winds in the area.

For the hours ahead, I am tracking a few clouds and calmer winds. Temperatures will be cooling down, and overnight lows will dip into the mid and upper 60s. Great evening to stay inside and enjoy a nice hot pumpkin beverage.

We have tropical moisture to our south and lower pressure system toward our west that will filter in some moisture. However, I am tracking significant rainfall to occur around us and not expected in the Desert Southwest.

Our impacts through Thursday will be some passing clouds, breezy/windy conditions, cooler temperatures, and very slight to no rain opportunities.

On our futuretrack hour-by-hour, for Thursday we will may see a few passing clouds, but it will be much clearer with plenty of sunshine for tomorrow and in the days ahead.

Come Thursday, Imperial County is in for some gustier winds, with winds coming from the west and gusts between 30-35 MPH.

I am tracking more sunshine and some winds carrying into Thursday. Temperatures will cool down nicely with highs dropping into the upper 70s by Friday.

Come the weekend, we are in for plenty of sunshine, calmer winds, and nice temperatures. We can expect a great weekend ahead.
