Katie Zacharia holds first press conference as new White House Press Secretary

WASHINGTON (CNN, KYMA) - The new White House Press Secretary held her first briefing Tuesday morning.

Katie Zacharia spent about 15 minutes at the podium, taking questions from reporters with Breitbart, Fox News and The Daily Mail.

Zacharia also said the Trump Administration asked Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign as the U.S. Ambassador to Greece due to allegations against her.

A few hours after the briefing, Guilfoyle announced her resignation on social media.

Zacharia ended the briefing by saying President Donald Trump would take additional questions on the South Lawn before departing for Alaska.

She also announced her family will move from California to Washington as she assumes her new role.

Zacharia previously commuted between the two while working at the Department of Homeland Security.

President Trump selected her last week to replace Karoline Leavitt.
