Former Trump donor brings allegations of pay-to-play against Kimberly Guilfoyle

(CBS, KYMA) - A former Trump donor is bringing allegations of pay-to-play against Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr's ex-fiancée.

Businessman Eric Deters claimed Guilfoyle asked him to pay off her six-figure credit card bill just days before her Senate confirmation hearing to become U.S. Ambassador to Greece.

She wrote, "I have been officially announced honey please I need you to get this done for me today," and included instructions on how to wire money.

Deters says he didn't pay her.

"It was quid pro quo, knowing she was going to become Greek ambassador...She was willing to be my advocate inside Trump world for anything and everything I ever asked for and wanted," Deter shared. "It was all a scam. She was trying to grift me for $100,000."

At the time, Deters wanted the Trump Administration to push for the extradition of an Ohio doctor who fled to Pakistan after being charged with fraud.

Democrats on Capitol Hill are pushing for an investigation.

CBS News asked Guilfoyle and her legal team for comment, but they have not responded.
