Free services bring hope to San Luis, Mexico

SAN LUIS, Mexico (KYMA) - A community outreach event brought free services and essential supplies to a vulnerable community in San Luis, Mexico.

The organized event offered local families access to food pantries, clothing, shoes, medications, water and school supplies at no cost.

The event was held near the train tracks, where many local residents face economic and social challenges.

Children also received free haircuts while residents could access legal advice and health services.

"The group brings a lot of help to our community. They provide us with haircuts and, above all, they bring us hope for a better life," said Martha Chavez, a resident of San Luis, Mexico. "That hope for a better life is the most important thing for us."

Nurses were able to check blood pressure and vital signs, as well as provide wart removal services.

The outreach event also included personal care services, such as gel nail applications, giving residents an opportunity to receive several services in one community event.
