Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer floats plea deal

(CNN, KYMA) - Days after a judge declared a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy case, her lawyer now said he's willing to work out a plea deal.

In a television interview Tuesday, Kevin Reddington said he has interest to sit down with the Plymouth County, Massachusetts District Attorney Timothy Cruz to work something out.

Clancy's case has gained nationwide attention.

She has admitted to killing her three young children, but her lawyer claimed she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, and should not be held criminally responsible for her actions.

However, prosecutors argued she knew what she was doing was wrong.

The jury deliberated for 38 hours, but could not reach a unanimous verdict last week, and prosecutors have not yet decided whether they will retry the case.

Clancy's lawyer also made a public appeal to President Donald Trump Tuesday for a pardon for his client.

However, Clancy has not been convicted, and because it's a state case, only the governor has pardon power.
