CBS 13 Sports: Diamondbacks host Yuma athletes championship celebration

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Five Yuma-area baseball players who helped the RBI Diamondbacks win the 2025 Nike RBI World Series Senior Division Championship were honored at Chase Field.

Julio Reina, Juan Pablo Chavez, Cesar Chavira, Carlos Gonzalez and Eli Lujan received championship rings and new Rawlings gloves alongside their teammates and coach James Kuzniak. They were also recognized during the Diamondbacks broadcast and on the stadium's big screen.

Arizona Western College (AWC) men's soccer coach Kenny Dale picked up his 300th win with the Matadors Saturday in a 3-2 road victory over Snow College. The win improved Dale's record at AWC to 300-102-30 over 22 seasons.

Yuma City FC also made history, earning its first-ever win with a 2-1 preseason victory over Cachanillas FC from Mexicali. Miguel Nungaray scored the first goal in club history, followed by David Guillen seven minutes later. Yuma City FC held on for the victory as it begins a new era of soccer in Yuma.
