Victim’s family speaks out after motorcyclist dies in crash in San Luis, Mexico

SAN LUIS, Mexico (KYMA) - On Friday, March 20, a tragic accident occurred in which a motorcyclist lost his life on the scene after becoming an innocent bystander caught in the middle of a police chase.

The crash took place at the intersection of 16 de Septiembre Avenue and 34th Street, in the Cuatro Altos area.

According to eyewitnesses, the motorcyclist had come to a full stop; however, at that moment, police officers were engaged in a pursuit of a 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia, which ultimately struck him.

Following the violent collision, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene. Witness accounts indicated that the initial official vehicles involved in the chase did not stop immediately to assist the victim; aid was only rendered upon the arrival of a third police unit.

The victim's family members have spoken out to demand justice and a full clarification of the facts, arguing that there are multiple irregularities surrounding the case.

The family are calling upon authorities to conduct a transparent investigation that leads to the identification of the culprit and ensures that such tragedies are never repeated.

The victim was identified as Carlos Adolfo Guevara Mosqueda, 31, who worked in the Department of Social Economy in the city of Somerton.

According to his family, the young man was on the verge of becoming a father, news he never lived to learn, as his wife is currently pregnant.

It is worth noting that at least three traffic accidents were recorded in San Luis Río Colorado on that same day, a fact that has sparked concern among residents regarding street safety.

The case has caused deep consternation within the community, which remembers Carlos as a young man with a promising future, as demands for justice continue to mount.
