Serena Williams to return to tennis

(CNN, KYMA) - Tennis legend Serena Williams now has a path to a possible return to the sport.

On Monday, the sport's Drug Testing Authority listed Williams as eligible to compete again.

The move comes four months after she rejoined the drug-testing pool, a requirement to play in sanctioned tournaments.

Still, there are no plans right now for Williams to return to competition.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion last played at the 2022 U.S. Open. At the time, she said she was 'evolving' away from tennis as she focused on family life.

She also wrote on social media in December that she is not returning.
