CBS 13 Sports: Arizona Western women’s soccer prepares for national championship tournament

Matadors women's basketball continues to try to find footing to start season, Sun Devils and Wildcats football pick up massive wins

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Arizona Western women's soccer is gearing up for its first game in pool play against Trinity Valley Community College Sunday at 2 p.m. MST.

The Matadors women's basketball team fell to Lamar Community College 61-50 and dropped to 3-4 Mabel Doumbia filled the stat sheet for AWC, recording 14 points, six rebounds and 4 assists.

Arizona State and University of Arizona football both picked up big wins to stay afloat in the BIG12. ASU topped West Virginia 25-23, while the Wildcats beat Cincinnati 30-24.

Both teams move to 7-3 overall. The Sun Devils advance to 5-2 in the conference with Arizona trailing by one game in the standings.
