Jacqueline Smith represents Kofa at Girls Golf State Championship
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Kofa High School's Jacqueline Smith capped off her golf season on one of Arizona’s biggest stages competing at the Arizona Interscholastic Association Division II Girls Golf State Championship at Aguila Golf Course in Phoenix.
The two-day tournament, held October 27–28, featured top golfers from across the state tackling the challenging 5,869-yard, par-72 course.
Smith held her own against elite competition, shooting an 85 in her opening round, 13 over par, to tie for 39th after Day 1.
The championship field included several standout performances, led by Mica Mountain's Tyla Greenwood, who claimed the individual title with a two-day total of 141, finishing three-under par.
Chaparral High School took home the team championship, edging out Canyon del Oro and Seton Catholic Prep.
For Smith, her trip to state marked an impressive milestone for both her and the Kofa golf program, a sign of growth and consistency as she continues to build her game.
Competing against some of the best high school golfers in Arizona, Smith's showing at Aguila highlights the growing presence of Kofa athletics on the state stage.
