CBS 13 SPORTS: Kofa’s Nicewander expanding career, Yuma Diablos chasing glory

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - From the baseball diamond to the soccer pitch, Yuma's rising athletes are making waves beyond their city limits.

The U18 Yuma Diablos, led by Head Coach Faron Owl, are heading into the United States Baseball Federation World Series after a dominant summer tournament run, featuring standouts from Cibola, Gila Ridge, San Luis, and Kofa High School.

Meanwhile, Kofa's head soccer coach Jamie Nicewander is helping bridge the gap between U.S. and Mexican soccer systems through his work with Datileros de San Luis, giving young athletes on both sides of the border a clearer path to college and pro opportunities.
