Christian Slater receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Actor Christian Slater was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday.
Slater has had an impressive career spanning five decades across film, television and stage.
He recently starred as Harry Morgan in the prequel series, "Dexter: Original Sin," and was previously the title character in Mr. Robot, for which he received a Critics' Choice and Golden Globe award.
Slater's film credits include "Blink Twice," "True Romance," "Broken Arrow," "Interview with the Vampire" and "Heathers" among others.
His star in the Television category is the 2,815th one to be added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
"My father lived on Hollywood Boulevard when I was a kid. I was about eight or nine. He lived in the Hollywood Hotel and Apartments. And I remember walking around the street and seeing the names of the actors and movie stars on the ground. And I never thought or dreamed I would have my own. I just love to read the names of all those who came before me and feel appreciation for every single one of them."

The ceremony was emceed by Steve Nissen, the President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, with Sarah Michelle Gellar, Slater's co-star on "Dexter: Original Sin" and star of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and Michael Lehmann, director of "Heathers," serving as guest speakers.
According to a press release, a letter written by Patricia Arquette, Slater's co-star on "True Romance," was read during the ceremony.
