FIRST ALERT: Tracking two incoming storm systems to bring big weather changes this week
Two storm systems will impact the area on Tuesday & Thursday of this week. These will produce high chances for rainfall and a possibility for isolated thunderstorms to develop. The stronger system on Thursday will also result in strong gusty winds, and chillier temperatures.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Despite much of the region receiving some rainfall last week, Yuma missed out on all of it, so our dry streak continues.
On Saturday, Yuma hit and ranked as its 4th longest dry stretch with 212 days. As of today, we are now at 215 days without any measurable rainfall. I am tracking high rain chances this week that could end this dry streak.

We have two strong lower-pressure weather systems that are inching their way to our area this week. This will result in cooling temperatures, multiple chances for rainfall, and breezy to locally windy conditions during the workweek.

The first storm system will arrive late Tuesday, bringing a round of widespread rain showers where we can get light to moderate rainfall.
The next storm system will arrive Thursday afternoon. This system looks to be more active and colder There could also be embedded thunderstorms and widespread gusty winds.

As of Tuesday and into Wednesday rainfall amounts will vary from 0.01"-0.40". More rain and higher rain totals are expected on Thursday.

I am issuing a Weather Authority First Alert ACTION DAYs for Tuesday and Thursday due to widespread rain showers and rain accumulation.
The stronger system is expected on Thursday and will also result in strong, gusty winds, and chillier temperatures. There are even a possibility for an isolated thunderstorm to develop.
