Pope Francis to require a change in his medical treatment
UPDATE (11:10 AM): Pope Francis will require a change in his medical treatment after tests indicated a "complex clinical picture."
In a statement Monday, the Vatican said the pope had a polymicrobial infection of his respiratory tract which will require further hospitalization.
The 88-year-old pontiff was admitted to a hospital in Rome on Friday for a respiratory tract infection.
The Vatican said Pope Francis slept well and ate breakfast Monday, but did not indicate when he may be released.
The pope did not lead the weekly Angelus Prayer on Sunday, only the second time that has happened in his almost 12-year-long papacy.
Pope Francis has a medical history of lung-related issues. He also suffered two falls in recent months and has been seen using a wheelchair.

The pope has been recovering at a Rome hospital for at least two nights.
According to the Vatican, the pope is pulling back from some of his duties, including leading certain prayers.
