Tracking a clear and dry weekend ahead

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - We're tracking a clear and dry weekend ahead after experiencing humidity and cloudy conditions the past few weekends.

It will be another warm weekend across Yuma and Imperial Counties, but temperatures are staying close to normal for this time of year, with no major heat concerns expected.

Yuma should reach around 103°F this afternoon under sunny skies, while El Centro will also top out near 103°F.

Tonight, both communities will cool into the 70s, with Yuma dropping to around 74°F and El Centro around 73°F.

Sunday will be very similar, with mostly sunny to partly sunny skies and highs around 102°F in both Yuma and El Centro.

Winds will stay relatively light, with a few gusts possible in Yuma during the afternoon.

Sunday night will bring another comfortable drop in temperatures, with lows around 77°F in Yuma and 76°F in El Centro.

Rain chances will remain minimal through the first half of next week, so most of the region can expect dry and quiet weather.

Temperatures will stay near to slightly above normal through the middle of next week, but the latest forecast calls for only minor heat impacts.

Looking ahead, we're tracking moisture and renewed rain chances to parts of Arizona during the latter half of next week. Yuma and El Centro, though, are tracking to remain mostly dry.

And with football season back in full swing, the weekend could be a good opportunity to catch a game from the patio in the evening, once temperatures come down, or take a break from the heat indoors and settle in for some football.
