Tracking cloudy conditions, warm temperatures hanging around

Weather Authority / KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - It's another triple-digit day across the Desert Southwest. Temperatures are remaining in the 100s although some cloud coverage has rolled in.

In both Yuma County and the Imperial Valley, we're tracking partly cloudy conditions today and tomorrow. Although, the cloud coverage is not reducing temperatures.

We are tracking highs in Yuma up to 105°F. In the Imperial Valley, as it tends to, temps are tracking a bit warmer at 109°F.

We should expect to see triple-digits for the foreseeable future with summer just weeks away. Temperatures are expected to remain in the 100s for the next 10 days. With tomorrows high in Yuma tracking at 107°F and the Imperial Valley should reach 108°F.

Moving on to the wind speeds we are tracking. There will be slight gusts throughout Thursday evening. In both Yuma County and the Imperial Valley around 7:00 p.m. we should see wind speeds in the 16-19 mile per hour range.

By Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. those wind speeds will drop into the low single digits. Sitting at 4 miles per hour in both the cities of Yuma and El Centro. The commute after work on Friday evening will be similar to what we see Thursday evening. Wind gusts will pick back up and sit in the 15-22 mile per hour range.

Be sure to stay hydrated as again, these warm temperatures will remain for the next few months. If you do work outside, be mindful to take regularly scheduled breaks in some AC as staying in the sun for extended periods of time with temperatures this warm can lead to heat-related illness.
