News 11 Weather: High Heat on the way

Temperatures set to exceed 110 degrees as we make our way through the final week of June

YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - Near to slightly above normal temperatures will persist across the region through this week. A weather disturbance moving across the western United States will deliver enhanced winds through midweek, with Imperial County seeing the strongest winds today and then spreading into south-central AZ Tuesday and Wednesday. The gusty winds in combination with the very dry air  will result in critical fire weather conditions on Tuesday and possibly through Wednesday. Hotter  conditions are forecast beginning late this week and continuing through this weekend when more widespread  highs of 110-115 degrees are forecast.
