Cooler with rain chances for the weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - It will be another hot day here in the Desert Southwest as afternoon highs will reach 113-116 this afternoon.

An Excessive Heat Warning will remain in place until 8 PM TONIGHT.

Make sure to take extra precautions today as these types of temperatures are dangerous and even deadly.

Breezy conditions is expected for this evening with wind gusts up to 20 MPH.

The good news is temperatures will cool back down near our seasonal average of 107 by tomorrow.

We will continue to see partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions through the weekend.

By tomorrow we will increase in monsoonal moisture with greater chances for rain showers and thunderstorms within our area starting Saturday morning.

Storm risks to be aware of of is lightning, gusty winds, and even localize flooding.
