Excessive heat for the Desert Southwest

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Hotter temperatures for our Wednesday along with partly cloudy skies. We will have drier conditions, but will still feel humid with dew points staying in the 60s.

Breezy conditions will continue through the afternoon with stronger winds to develop later this evening with winds gusts peaking near 30 MPH.

Blowing dust and sand is possible, so make sure to drive safely.

Temperatures are on the rise the next few days with highs reaching 112-116 degrees.

The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for portions of the Desert Southwest that will go in place 11 a.m. Thursday (TOMORROW) until 8 p.m. Friday.

Extreme conditions like this is very dangerous and could be even deadly which can cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion which could lead to heat stroke. 

Make sure o take extra precautions if you plan on spending any time outdoors.
