Near-normal before the excessive heat returns

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - It will be another sunny and hot day. It will be great to take a dip in the pool, as winds will be much lighter around 5 to 10 MPH and afternoon highs near normal. Our average for today is 103-degrees.

A strong ridge of high pressure is rebuilding over the next few days before the next round of excessive heat returns.

An Excessive Heat Warning is issued for Yuma and Imperial that will go into effect 10 A.M. until 8 P.M. Thursday. This is for the upcoming dangerously-hot temperatures that will hit around 108-114-degrees.

As we get ready for hotter temperatures make sure to prepare now so we are ready and taking the proper precautions. Make sure to stay cool and hydrate.
