Cooler with some wind to start the week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Temperatures will be cooler than what we felt over the past several days, with afternoon highs being slightly above-normal. It will be a nice break from the excessive heat.

However, we will have winds rejoining us today as we will have breezy to windy conditions with expected gusts of 15 to 30 MPH through the afternoon.

Winds will strengthen by the the evening hours, so that's when gusts could peak up to 40 MPH. Be aware of blowing dust and sand, and make sure to take extra precautions if you are driving.

Stronger and gusty winds will occur in Imperial Valley and there's a Wind Advisory issued for Imperial County that will go into effect 6 P.M. this evening until 11 P.M. tonight for possible gusts that could peak 40 MPH.
