News 11 Weather Authority: Early June heating

June 1st, 2022

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Memorial Day Weekend might very well may have been the final significant cool-down our area will experience for the final days of Spring and on through the Summer season ahead.

The latest high pressure feature has elevated our daytime highs back into the triple digits.

El Centro rose to 103 degrees on this 1st day of June, while both Yuma and Blythe saw a daytime high of 102.

Meanwhile, Imperial was closer to it's average daytime high, barely landing at 100 degrees.

The ridge is expected to bring slight increases in our temps for the rest of the week, before a miniscule temperature drop is expected to take place this coming weekend.
