Local storm presence winding down

Despite heavy amounts of rainfall overnight, the overall storm system affecting our area is making a gradual exit.

Yuma and El Centro alone officially received close to half an inch of rainfall between midnight and 6 am this morning, while Blythe's rain total almost reached 1 inch.

The National Weather Service is calling for a 20 to 40 percent chance of more light to moderate shower activity this afternoon through midnight tonight.

A weak ridge of high pressure is expected to move in this coming weekend to help clear and dry out our area.
