Temps improving for rest of week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) — It’s a breezy but comfortable afternoon across Yuma, with temperatures sitting in the mid-80s under clear skies.

Winds out of the west are gusting near 20 miles per hour, keeping conditions slightly cooler than what we’ve seen in recent days.

That trend continues into tonight, with mostly clear skies and a low around 58 degrees. Winds will remain breezy early before calming overnight.

Thursday and Friday will bring more sunshine with highs holding steady in the upper 80s—but breezy conditions will stick around, especially Friday when gusts could reach up to 30 miles per hour.

By the weekend, the warm-up begins.

Temperatures climb into the low 90s on Saturday before reaching the mid-90s by Sunday, with plenty of sunshine expected.

Looking ahead to early next week, those 90-degree temperatures are here to stay, signaling a return to more typical desert heat.

For now, Yuma gets a short break from the extreme heat—but the warmer days are right around the corner.
