High pressure builds over for first half of the week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A strong ridge of high pressure will build over the region during the first part of this week leading to a steady warming trend.

By Tuesday, afternoon high temperatures across the lower deserts will top out in the mid to upper 70s to possibly even around 80 degrees.

Similar temperatures are anticipated on Wednesday.

Dry conditions and above normal temperatures will continue through Friday, but a passing weather system will result in temperatures cooling back to near normal next weekend.
