FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Temps to gradually increase as sunny skies remain

Temperatures will increase slightly over the next week, as the Desert Southwest will also receive more sunny skies

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Isolated showers and thunderstorms will begin retreating intomountainous areas through Wednesday, then exit the region completely Blate in the week through at least early next week.

As a result, near normal temperatures today will begin a steady warming trend eventually topping 110 degrees across lower elevation communities by Friday.

An Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for much of south-central Arizona Friday through Sunday.
