High wind speeds through the Desert Southwest Sunday

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Well below normal temperatures are expected through Tuesday with highs remaining in the upper 80s and lower 90s.

A warming trend is expected to transpire through the later half of this week as temperatures rise back to normal levels on Thursday and Friday.

A ridge of high pressure will continue to build over in Mexico through next weekend, leading to the hottest temperatures of the year so far. This will result in a moderate heat risk.

No precipitation is expected for the next several days. Today in Yuma, mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight.

Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
