Clear skies and warming trend expected for first weekend of 2020

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY)- Clear skies and a slight warming trend are forecast for this weekend in Yuma county.

According to the National Weather Service, an increasing high pressure into the weekend will bring drier and warmer weather with temperatures rising to above normal readings beginning this weekend.

On Saturday, sunny conditions will prevail with a high near 69 degrees. Winds from the north northeast will be around 5 mph. Saturday night, temperatures will cool to 47 degrees.

Sunday, sunny clear skies will prevail with highs near 69. Breeze conditions will continue with wind coming from the north at 10 to 15 miles per hour.

A weak, but generally dry weather system may move through the region by the middle of next week returning temperatures closer to normal readings.
