CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Controversy over Arkansas State Trooper excessive use of force

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Ark. (CBS, KYMA) - 18 year-old Alisa Hackett was pulled over in Mississippi County, Arkansas on Saturday, August 1.

During the traffic stop, the situation turned tense and Arkansas State Trooper Mossies Arellano was seen on his police cruiser dashcam punching Alisa Hackett in the face with a closed fist.

Hackett has been charged with: Resisting arrest, purchase or possession of alcohol by a minor, speeding 1-15 miles per hour over the limit, no seatbelt, improper display of license tags, and improper use of emergency lights.

State Trooper Arellano has not been placed on administrative leave, and there is also an ongoing internal review.

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, has been retained by Alisa Hackett.
