CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Coyote spotted in Chicago

CHICAGO (NBC, KYMA) - A coyote was caught on camera strolling through Chicago's Millennium Park. The animal had the area to itself and just made its way through without any problem or people around.

While it's unusual to see this type of animal in broad daylight, it is not the first time. Experts say the animals are native to the area, but are normally spotted during the winter mating season.

A forest reserve officer says the coyote was most likely looking for food. While they do not eat trash or consume human food, they do enjoy mice and rats.

Residents are urged to keep their distance and try not to feed them.
