The road to recovery for a fentanyl addict

From addiction to surviving the fentanyl crisis within

YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY) - The fentanyl crisis has been sweeping the Yuma County community for months.

News 11 has reported multiple times of fentanyl overdoses in schools and off of campuses. Since the start of the year, San Luis Fire Department (SLFD) officials have reported eight fentanyl-related overdose cases, with seven of them involving minors.

In 2019, SLFD reported 42 overdose cases with 32 of them involved with fentanyl.

With the fentanyl crisis sweeping the streets, one former fentanyl addict wants to come forward to share her story with the youth.

She hopes by sharing her experience, more kids could think twice before being the target of the crisis.
