Heating your home will cost you more this fall

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - With fall temperatures here in many parts of the country, Americans are bracing for higher home heating bills.

Families are expected to pay more for heating their home this coming season, compared to last winter.

Those who heat with natural gas are facing the highest increase

Heating oil is expected to increase nearly 13-percent for an average cost of more than 21-hundred dollars this winter.

Electric heat is expected to see a seven percent increase.

First time applications for low income home energy assistance are up 60-percent.

The Biden administration is asking congress for additional funding to help low income families stay warm this winter.
