Making a Difference: Serve it Forward

Local business calls on public to nominate local families for a family feast

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - For decades Michelle's Auto Sales has called Yuma County home. Aside from selling vehicles the dealership has earned a reputation for selling luxury cars like Mercedes and even Maseratis. But, the local business wanted to do something for the community, especially now. During a brain storming session General Manager Hector Garcia decided he wanted to give out dinners to families in need.

Garcia called his friends at Brewers Sports Bar and Grill and "Serve it Forward" was born. Using the dealership's social media platforms, they reached out to the community for nominees for a family feast.

Now, two families are chosen daily. One nomination is for frontline workers like healthcare workers, first responders, and other essential workers. The second family is anyone that could use a treat.
