Chevron pulls American workers from Iraq

(KYMA/KSWT/KECY) - Chevron has evacuated all of its American workers following last week's airstrike in Bagdad.

The second-largest oil company in the United States said in a statement that the decision to evacuate is a "precautionary measure" its expatriate employees and contractors have left the Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq "for the time being." Chevron does not have oil workers elsewhere in Iraq.

Local staff is overseeing Chevron's ongoing operations in the Kurdistan Region, the company said.
