LAPD officer pleads ‘not guilty’ in fondling a corpse
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KECY/KSWT/KYMA) - The Los Angeles Police Department officer accused of fondling a dead woman's corpse has pleaded not guilty on Monday morning.
27-year-old David Rojas, an officer with the Central Division, was placed on leave in December after body-cam footage allegedly caught him in the act.
Rojas allegedly turned off his body-cam and then lifted the sheet covering the woman's body and began to feel on her nipples and fondle her breasts.
He later turned the cam back on but the cameras used by LAPD have a 2-minute buffering function that records two-minutes before the recording function is activated.
The officer is due back in court later this month.
