These twins were born in different decades

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - Mother Dawn Gillman had heard of twins being born on different days, but not entirely different decades.

That's what happened to her twins. On New Year's Eve, concern for her unborn twins led her to visit the hospital.

At 11: 37 p.m. she delivered her daughter, born just shy of the new year.

"We've known for awhile that she was going to be born first. She's been in position for most of the pregnancy in position first. Of course, he was breech. So, it took awhile for him to come," she said.

Little brother Jaxon arrived in just after the New Year, at 12:07 a.m.

The parents are still in shock.

"Earlier, we talked about it would be great to have them born on different dates. But here we are to this surprise - different dates, different years. That was definitely interesting for us for sure," said the father.

The parents hope to take their newborn twins home this weekend.
