Rose Parade float preparations well underway

Final touches on rose parade floats — Two volunteers put final touches on floats that will participate in the 131st Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.

PASADENA, Calif. (KYMA/KSWT/KECY) - The 131st Annual Rose Parade Float rings in the New Year with a parade on New Years Day featuring lavish floats decorated with not a single artificial product.

Every single item used to decorate is fresh, the reason being for the last-minute preparations.

Thousands of flowers, hundreds of pounds of seeds are just some of the items used on the floats.

Hundreds of volunteers also sign up every single year to be part of the decorating. There are even volunteers that come from all around the world to lend a hand and be part of the process.

The parade will broadcast on several networks on New Year's Day, then afterward, you can catch the Rose Bowl game where the Oregon Ducks will face off the Wisconsin Badgers.
