App Helps “Find Black Santa”
DALLAS, Tx. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - A Texas mom took it upon herself to find a Santa Claus her sons could relate to.
She has created an app which locates black Santas for children to visit.
WBAL/NBC News reports Jihan Woods, a psychiatrist, is the creator of the "Find Black Santa" app.
It lists Santas in 35 states and the locations the app serves continue to grow.
"It's really important in racial and ethnic development that children see figures -- whether it's in the media, a mystical figure, like, Santa -- because it's really helpful for their development," Woods says.
