The Bronx River Parkway underwater this evening cars lined up trapped by the floodwater with nowhere to go.

The danger here was evident beneath the overpass at Palmer Road.

Some people ended up on the roof of their vehicles waiting for help.

Eventually, the other cars stuck here were able to exit by turning around and going north on the southbound lane.

"You can't walk into the park. There's cars down there trying to turn around," said one local resident.
