Shooting in North Carolina leaves two dead and multiple injured

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (NBC, KYMA) - Two people are dead and multiple people injured after a shooting overnight in Asheville, North Carolina.

Authorities say the shooting happened near Biltmore Avenue just before 2:30 a.m. Eastern Sunday morning.

At least seven people were transported to the hospital, two in critical condition.

Investigators say they have contained a large crime scene and collected evidence, including several shell casings.

It's believed the shooting may have stemmed from an earlier gun violence incident.

So far, no arrests have been made.
