Construction for buckling New York building

NEW YORK (NBC, KYMA) - Construction crews worked through the night to stabilize a New York City high-rise building.

Buckled steel beams inside the structure, that is currently under construction, sparked fears of a collapse Tuesday.

Officials ordered nine nearby buildings, including schools, restaurants and hotels, to be evacuated as a precaution.

However, some of those evacuation orders have since been lifted after progress was made to shore up the building, allowing a limited number of residents to return.
