Local student artwork to be showcased to support scholarships

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A local college will be hosting a fundraiser to support student scholarships.

Arizona Western College's (AWC) Visual and Performing Arts Department is holding a Festival Fundraiser, which will showcase live music and theater performances, as well as student artwork.

“The scholarship funds help students who are struggling to pay for supplies and materials for classes as well as personal needs such as food insecurity,” commented Fine Arts Professor Rebecca Shelby. “The event is festival style, where there are several different performances and works for sale by the students who have donated them.”

The event will be on Saturday, March 15 from 2-4 p.m.

Tickets cost $15 per person or $25 per couple.
