Starbucks helps grieving woman with free coffee

MGN

(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - A Virgina Starbucks offered a nice gesture to a woman who was grieving.

Jackie Dean is a woman who recently lost her mom and had to move her services 3 times because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dean, after given a free cup of coffee, said, "It was the best Caramel Macchiato I ever had."

She and her sisters were going through a grieving process by remembering their mom with her favorite drink, a Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks.

Dean explained how she accidentally ordered two Macchiatos because she would always get one for herself and her mother.

"I held my card out the window so I could pay for my coffee and there were a couple of the staff working there and they had come up to the window and they said, Ma'am there's not going to be any charge for your coffee today," recounted Dean.

The Starbucks staff knew something was going on and figured a small gesture would help Dean through her process.
